AI credits power Fireflies' advanced features beyond transcription. This guide covers what they are, how to use them, and how to manage or purchase more.

⚠ Transcription is not charged in AI credits. Standard meeting transcription, note-taking, and recap emails are covered by your plan. AI credits only apply to the advanced features listed below.

AI credits unlock Fireflies' advanced AI tools, including:

• AI Skills — Generate customized notes using 100+ templates like BANT, MEDDIC, or interview feedback — 1 credit per meeting analyzed

• Personal Assistant — A bundle of three AI apps that run automatically on your meetings: Daily Digest (a daily summary across all your meetings), Popular Topics (recurring themes from your calls), and Meeting Prep (context and past syncs before upcoming calls). These run on a schedule and consume credits automatically — see the FAQ below for details on managing this.

• Magic & keyword soundbites — Automatically extract key moments from meetings

• Custom summary sections — Add new sections to summaries with personalized logic (paid users only)

• Voice Agents — Run AI-powered voice conversations — 1 credit per minute of call

• Sales Assist — Real-time AI suggestions during customer calls — 2 credits per suggestion

• Slack Assistant — Query the Fireflies Slack Assistant — subject to the query

• Autofill CRM — Automatically extract and push meeting data to your CRM (currently only available for Hubspot) — 1 credit per meeting

• AskFred on Live Assist — Ask Fred questions during a live meeting across Web, Mobile, Chrome Extension, and Desktop app — 1 credit per query

How to Get AI Credits 🎁

Every Fireflies account includes one-time AI credits based on your plan:

• Free: 20 AI credits on sign-up

• Pro: 20 AI credits

• Business: 30 AI credits

• Enterprise: 50 AI credits

✨ AI credits are shared within your team and do not increase with added teammates ✨ If you upgrade, your new plan's credits replace your previous ones — they do not stack. Example: upgrading from Free to Business gives you 30 credits, not 50.

🎁 Bonus: Receive 100 AI credits when you create your first Voice Agent — added to the team pool, valid for 14 days, granted once per user

🎁 7-day trial: Fireflies offers a 7-day AI credits trial that gives you access to all AI features before committing to a paid subscription. If you signed up for the trial and don't see credits reflected, check your AI Credits Usage page or contact support.

If paid users run out of credits before their next cycle, Fireflies automatically subscribes them to the lowest AI credits tier ($5/50 credits) to avoid any interruption. Free users will see a paywall and be prompted to upgrade.

Q1. What is Personal Assistant and does it use credits automatically?

Yes. Personal Assistant is a bundle of three AI apps — Daily Digest, Popular Topics, and Meeting Prep — that run automatically on your meetings on a schedule. Because they run in the background, credits are consumed without you having to trigger them manually. You may have had Personal Assistant enabled during a free trial period; once the trial ends, it continues running and consuming credits. You can check which apps are active and disable any or all of them from your AI Apps settings. Admins can also disable Personal Assistant for the entire team.

Q2. Why was I charged when I didn't knowingly use any AI features? This is most commonly caused by Personal Assistant (Daily Digest, Popular Topics, Meeting Prep) running automatically in the background. You can see exactly what consumed your credits at app.fireflies.ai/settings/ai-credits-usage and disable any apps you don't want running. To prevent auto-charges when credits run out, pause auto-upgrades.

Q3. Do my plan credits expire?

No — the credits included with your plan on sign-up are one-time and do not expire. However, if you purchase an AI credits subscription, unused credits from that month's allocation do not carry over to the next cycle.

Q4. What happens to my credits when I upgrade my plan?

Your previous plan's credits do not carry over. Your new plan's starting credits replace them. For example, upgrading from Free (20 credits) to Business gives you 30 fresh credits — they do not add together.

Credits are pooled at the team level — everyone in your workspace draws from the same balance. They do not scale with the number of seats.

You can open the Live Assist panel, but features that consume credits (AskFred queries and Sales Assist suggestions) will be paused until credits are available.

Q8. How do I track how my team is using credits?

You can monitor credit usage per team member from your account settings.

Q9. Can I cancel or change my AI credits subscription?

Yes — you can edit or cancel your subscription at any time.

Q10. When does my cancellation take effect?
