Upload & integration rate limits explained
Last updated: May 24, 2025
If you’re uploading recordings or using integrations like Zapier or the API, Fireflies applies monthly processing limits to ensure consistent performance. This guide explains how those limits work and how they vary by plan.

What the rate limit covers
Rate limits apply only to uploads and external imports, including:
- Manual uploads via the Dashboard
- Files sent via Zapier or API
- Recordings pulled from Dropbox, Box, or OneDrive
- Dialer/telephony system imports
- Using Transcribe past meetings for calendar events Fireflies didn’t join live
✅ Live meetings joined by the Fireflies bot don’t count toward this limit
✅ Chrome Extension recordings and Mobile App recordings also don’t count
Monthly rate limits by plan
Fireflies gives you a monthly cap per upload source. Here’s how it works:
- Individual accounts: 3,000 minutes per source per month
- Teams: 3,000 minutes per user, pooled per source (e.g., 5 users = 15,000 minutes/source)
- Team max: 150,000 minutes per source, per team, per month
📅 These limits reset monthly
⚙ A “source” is any input method like API, Zapier, or manual upload
What happens if you exceed the limit?
If you go over your monthly quota for a specific source:
- You’ll continue processing, but
- Overage charges apply: 0.01 USD per extra minute, billed in the next cycle
You’ll get notified in-app when you’re approaching or over the limit
Making sense of it all
- Rate limits only apply to uploads and integrations
- Live Fireflies bot joins don’t count toward this limit
- Limits refresh every month – overages are rare, but manageable
