This article gives a brief overview of the Fireflies Notepad.
Here are the key features and improvements:
Top bar navigation

Breadcrumb navigation
- Located in the top left corner, this feature allows you to navigate to the specific channel the meeting belongs to.

Rename the meeting name
- Click once on the meeting name to rename/edit it.

Hamburger menu
- Hovering over three lines at the top right provides quick access to various dashboard pages, such as Integrations, Apps, Team, and Settings.
- By clicking the three-dot menu, you can easily:
- Share
- Copy meeting link
- Rename meeting titles
- Download meetings
- Delete meetings
This change enhances the accessibility of the meeting download and sharing options.
Transcript and editing
- Cleaner transcript display: The transcript area has been redesigned to improve readability.
- Floating editing panel: This appears when you click the edit icon above the transcript.
- You can now undo, redo, save, or cancel changes made to the transcript while editing.
- Context menu: You can create Soundbites, add comments, bookmark, and copy specific text segments directly from the transcript just by highlighting it.
Transcript marking options
- You can bookmark important timestamps and add action items, likes, or dislikes directly on the meeting marker.
- Hover over the meeting marker to reveal all markers on the transcript. Click on any marker to jump directly to that section and start playing the recording.

Sidebar and index pane
- Collapsible sidebar: Click on the icons to collapse the sidebar windows for a wider view of notes and transcripts.
- Index pane: Functions like a book index, allowing you to jump to specific sections like action items or notes, improving navigation within long summaries.
- You can also customize Super Summary apps and create new AI Apps by clicking the + icon. No need to navigate to the Apps page.
Comments and notes
Comments pane
- Comments are now distinct from summary notes, making them easier to read and manage.
- You can view comments made during the meeting, or add new comments below the thread.
- You can go to a specific timestamp and leave a comment that corresponds to it. Anyone who views the comment can quickly jump to that specific part of the transcript for more context.
- React to comments to express your thoughts.
- You can also reply to previous comments.

Focus mode
This new feature allows you to view only the summary or transcript, reducing distractions.
- Expand Notes/Video tab: Click the expand icon in the Notes/Video tab to view only the selected content.
- Expand Transcript tab: Click the expand icon in the Transcript tab to focus solely on the transcript.
Share meeting transcript
You can share the transcript with others and manage who has access to it.
- Click Share on the top right.
- You can invite others to view your meeting via their email addresses.
- Set your meeting privacy to decide who has access to your meeting transcript.
Choose your desired privacy setting:
Privacy Setting | What does it mean? |
Anyone with Link | Anyone with a link to your meeting will be able to view the transcript and play the recording |
Only Participants & Teammates | Only meeting participants or teammates can access your meeting |
Only Participants | Only meeting participants can access your meeting |
Only Teammates | Only teammates can access your meeting |
Only You | Only you can access your meeting link |
- If the privacy setting is set to Anyone with Link, you can copy the link and share it with others.
- You can also share the meeting with your Slack and Microsoft Teams contacts.
Soundbites and video integration
- Soundbites access: Access the Soundbites by clicking its icon on the left. This separates the Soundbites from the Notes/Video tab.
- Create Soundbites: Click the + icon to create Soundbites.
- Alternatively, you can click on Soundbites on the top right.
You have three options:
- Drag and select transcript: Manually select a part of the transcript and turn it into a Soundbite.
- Magic Soundbites: Fireflies uses AI to identify the meeting's key moments and generates multiple soundbites.
- Keyword Soundbites: Fireflies extracts all relevant mentions of a specific keyword or phrase.

- Video Soundbites sync with transcript: While playing a Soundbite linked to a video, the tab switches to the video, syncing playback with the transcript.
AskFred
Fireflies’ AI meeting assistant AskFred now has a wider and cleaner UI. This improves the visibility of both the input and output, making interactions with AskFred smoother and more intuitive.
You can access AskFred by clicking the AskFred icon on the left side.

Smart Search
AI Filters
- Filter the meeting transcript with AI Filters for questions, tasks, metrics, and more, based on the meeting transcript.
- Filter the transcript by negative, positive, and neutral sentiments.
- Filter the transcript by speakers.
Topic Tracker
Topic Tracker helps you easily identify conversations around key topics within their meeting transcripts.

- Filter the transcript by clicking any topic under Topic Trackers filter.
- When you hover over a topic, you can see all the keywords associated with it, making it easier to review specific discussions.
Meeting scheduling and file uploads
- Click the + icon on the top right to:
- Add Fireflies to a live meeting.
- Schedule a new meeting using Google or Outlook calendar.
- Upload and transcribe a new audio and video file.
