Introduction to Fireflies Chrome extension
- The Fireflies Chrome Extension lets you record Google Meet meetings directly from your Chrome browser and generate transcriptions with speaker names without inviting the Fireflies bot, Fred.
- You can also capture and transcribe Loom and Soapbox videos and store them in your Fireflies Notebook with a single click using the Fireflies Chrome extension.

Note:
- You can generate unlimited meeting transcriptions using the Fireflies Chrome extension.
- The Fireflies Chrome extension now features a Real-time Pane. This allows you to view live transcripts, bookmark important moments, create soundbites, and add comments during your ongoing meeting.

How to record meetings using the Fireflies Chrome extension
- Open the Chrome extension store in your Google Chrome browser and search for Fireflies: AI meeting notes, or click this link.
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Click Add extension.
- Click the Extensions icon at the right corner of your Chrome navigation bar.
- Find the Fireflies: AI meeting notes. Pin the Fireflies extension for a smoother experience.
- Click the Fireflies extension icon to access the Fireflies access drawer.
- Click Continue with Google to create your Fireflies account or log into your existing account.
- Select your Google account and click Continue.
- Click Allow to grant Fireflies access to your Google Calendar metadata.

- Click the Fireflies extension icon to manage the auto-capture meetings feature, which is on by default.
- Start or join a Google Meet meeting in Chrome. If auto-capture is enabled, Fireflies will automatically record it.
- If not, you’ll get a pop-up. Click Record to allow Fireflies to record the meeting.
- Alternatively, open the Fireflies extension access drawer and click Record against your meeting name.
- When recording starts, a notification appears in the top-right corner of your screen, visible only to you.
- To stop recording during a meeting, click the Fireflies extension icon and select Stop.
Note:
- Meetings under 3 minutes duration will not be saved or recorded.
How to view meetings recorded using the Fireflies Chrome extension
All the meetings recorded with the extension are saved automatically to your Fireflies Notebook. Here’s how to access them:
- Open the Fireflies extension icon and click My meetings.
- All your recent meetings appear here.
- To view past meetings, click View all.
- This will navigate you to your Fireflies Notebook. All the meetings captured with the Fireflies Chrome extension will have a Chrome icon next to it.
Note:
- Fireflies Chrome extension does not capture video.

If you refresh the Chrome tab during a meeting:
- The recording until that point will be saved and processed.
- A new recording will start when you return to the meeting.
- You'll find two separate recordings in your Notebook, one before and one after the refresh.
How to share the meeting recordings made with the Fireflies Chrome extension
- After the meeting ends and you close the tab, you'll receive a notification that Your meeting is being processed.
- Share the recording directly by entering recipients' emails and clicking "Share."
- Alternatively, open the meeting recording from your Fireflies Notebook. Click Share at the top right corner of your screen.
- In the pop-up, enter the User group or the email addresses you want to share with, and then click Invite.
