Introduction to the Meeting Recap Email
A meeting recap email is a summary sent after a meeting, providing a link to the full transcript. Typically, you should receive this email within 10 minutes of your meeting's end. If you haven't received it, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Troubleshooting for admins/hosts
If you and the meeting participants are not receiving meeting recap emails, check the following:
1. Email recap settings
Your meeting recap email delivery is determined by the Send email recap to setting.
You can change this setting from the Fireflies web app’s homepage.
You get the following options:
- Everyone on the invite: All participants will receive recap emails.
- Only Me and participants from my team: Only you and participants added to your Fireflies workspace will get recaps.
- Only Me and participants from corporate email id: Only you and participants with your company domain email will receive recaps.

Only Me: Only you will receive the recap email.
If your participants don’t receive the meeting recap, it’s possible that your setting might be set to Only Me. Check your email to confirm if you’ve received an email recap from Fireflies. Here’s what it looks like:

If neither you nor the participants receive the email recap, the issue might be that Fred didn’t join the call.
2. Fred did not join the call
Check your auto-join settings to confirm which meetings you’ve allowed Fireflies to join and record. If the issue persists, refer to this troubleshooting guide.
- Auto-Join Setting: Ensure the auto-join setting isn't disabled.
- Invite Fred: Verify Fred (fred@fireflies.ai) was invited to the meeting.
- Denied Entry: Check the Meeting Status page to see if Fred was denied entry during the call.
3. The meeting was too short
Fireflies generates recaps only for meetings longer than 3 minutes. If your meeting was shorter, no recap will be sent.

Troubleshooting for participants
If you were a meeting participant and did not receive the recap, check the following:
1. Email filtering
Check your spam/junk folders, as the recap email might have been filtered.
2. Non-attendance
Some hosts only send recaps to attendees. If you didn't attend, this could be why you missed it. Reach out to the host and request them to share the recap.
3. Host did not share meeting recap
If the host's "Send email recap to" setting was "Only Me," they alone received the recap. Contact the host to ask them to share it with you.
4. Delayed email
Recap emails can take up to 10 minutes to arrive after the meeting ends. Wait for 10 minutes and check your inbox again.
