Set a default language for all meetings
- From the Fireflies dashboard, click Meeting language.
- Select your preferred language. (For example, we’ve selected Spanish)
- Invite Fireflies to your meeting and speak in your language.

- After the meeting, get the transcription and summary in your selected language.
Note: All your future meetings will be transcribed in the selected preferred language.
Change the language for a specific meeting
Fireflies lets you set the language for each meeting while retaining your global language setting. To do that,
- Go to the Fireflies dashboard and in the Upcoming meeting section look for the language icon dropdown.
Note: To change the language for specific meetings, ensure that the Fireflies toggle is ON. You can only change the language of the meetings you own.
- Select your preferred language.
- Your upcoming meeting will be transcribed in that specific language.

FAQs
1. Can Fireflies detect multiple languages in the same meeting?
No. Currently, Fireflies transcribes meetings in the preferred language you select before the meeting.
2. Can I transcribe uploaded multimedia files in my preferred language?
Yes. You can transcribe audio files in your preferred language. Here’s how:
- Choose your preferred language.
- Upload the audio file.
- Access the transcribed audio file in your Notebook.

3. Can I download the meeting transcripts?
Yes. From the meeting notepad, click Download and then Download transcripts. For detailed instructions read, How to download meetings, transcripts and summaries.
