How to invite Fireflies to Google Meet meetings?
There are different ways you can invite Fireflies to Google Meet meetings, including.
1. Add Fireflies to your calendar as a guest
- Add Fireflies as a participant from your calendar (Google/Outlook). Ensure the Google Meet link is included.
2. Allow Fireflies to automatically join your meetings
- From the dashboard, enable Auto-join calendar meetings.
This allows Fireflies to join all meetings scheduled on your calendar without a manual invite.
Note: For the bot to join successfully, the meeting link must be present in the calendar connected to your Fireflies account.

3. Add Fireflies to an ongoing meeting
- From the Google Meet meeting, copy the meeting link.
- From the dashboard, click Add to live meeting.
- Paste the meeting URL in the pop-up window and click on Start capturing.

4. Using the Fireflies Chrome Extension for Google Meet
If you prefer not to have the Fireflies bot join your Google Meet as a participant, you can use the Fireflies Chrome Extension to record and capture meetings.
The Chrome Extension allows you to record, transcribe and summarize Google Meet sessions without inviting the Fireflies bot.

How Fireflies joins my meetings?
When it's time for a meeting Fireflies has been invited to:
- Fireflies will ask the meeting host for permission to join.
- If admitted, "Fireflies.ai Notetaker" will appear in the participant list.
