This guide covers steps to invite Fireflies to Microsoft Teams meetings.
Configure Microsoft Teams settings
You must enable these two settings from the Microsoft Teams admin center before inviting Fireflies.
1. Enable guest access
- Guest access is required to allow fred@fireflies.ai as a guest to your Microsoft Teams meeting.
- By default, the guest access is turned OFF in Microsoft Teams.
- You need admin access to enable this setting.
Here are the steps admins can follow to enable guest access.
- Click Microsoft Teams Admin Center. Log in with your credentials.
- This takes you to the Microsoft 365 admin center. Click Show all.
- This expands all the Admin centers. Now, click Teams.
- Within the Microsoft Teams admin center, click Users and select Guest Access.
- Turn Guest Access ON. This allows people in your organization to invite guest users.

2. Bypass Lobby
Microsoft Teams has a Lobby setting where all guests need to wait. You can configure the Lobby setting from the Microsoft Teams admin center to ensure Fred joins meetings on time, To do that,
- Scroll down to Meetings and click Meeting policies.
- Select the policy you want to update.
- Select People in my org and guests or Everyone.
- Click Save to save the changes. The settings you have saved will be applied to all meetings.
Note:
- Configuring this step will allow Fireflies to join on time without waiting in the Lobby.
- After these settings are configured, you’re ready to Invite Fireflies to a Microsoft Teams meeting.
Invite Fireflies to a Microsoft Teams meeting
- From the Fireflies dashboard, turn the Auto-join calendar settings ON. This allows Fireflies to automatically join your Microsoft Teams meeting.
- Alternatively, you can keep the setting OFF and manually add Fireflies as a meeting participant or invite it via the add to live meeting option.
- Schedule a meeting from the calendar (Google/Outlook) connected to your Fireflies account. Make sure it has the link to the Microsoft Teams meeting.

- When it is time to join, Fireflies will ask for permission.
- Once admitted, Fireflies will join the meeting as a participant.
- It will send you the meeting notes to the desired channel you’ve connected with from the Fireflies Microsoft Teams integration.
