How to set the language for each meeting

Need a different transcription language for a specific meeting? Fireflies allows you to adjust the language on a per-meeting basis without affecting your default settings. This is useful when you’re working with multilingual teams or meetings in different languages.

This guide walks you through how to update the language for an individual meeting.

πŸš€ Steps to set the language for each meeting

1. On the Fireflies homepage, click the Upcoming button on the right side to open the collapsible side panel.

2. Under Upcoming Meetings, find the meeting you want to update and click the language icon.

3. This opens up all the language options that Fireflies supports. From the dropdown, select your preferred language.

4. Use the search bar to find and select your preferred language (for example, Spanish).

5. A confirmation message will appear showing the selected language, and the meeting will be transcribed in that language.

  • You can only change the language for meetings you own.

  • To update the language for a specific meeting, ensure the Fireflies meeting toggle is turned ON.
