How to cancel your Fireflies subscription

We understand that sometimes needs change, and you might be considering canceling your paid Fireflies subscription. This guide will walk you through the cancellation process smoothly.

Please note that canceling your subscription (Pro, Business, or Enterprise) will downgrade your account to our Free tier at the end of your current billing cycle. You’ll still have access to Fireflies, just with the features available on the Free plan.

What happens when you cancel

Before you proceed, here’s a quick rundown of what to expect:

  • Downgrade to Free: Your account will transition from your current paid plan (Pro, Business, or Enterprise) to the Fireflies Free tier

  • Access Continues: You’ll retain access to all paid features until the end of your current paid billing period

  • Keep Your Data: Your existing meetings, transcripts, and recordings will remain in your Fireflies Notebook, accessible within the limits of the Free tier (like storage capacity)

  • No Data Loss (Initially): Canceling doesn’t immediately delete your data; it simply changes your plan level

Canceling your subscription step-by-step

Ready to make the change? Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to Settings

    • Log in to your Fireflies web app

    • Click on Settings in the main navigation menu on the left

    • Then, select Account Settings

  2. Find Subscription Management

    • On the Account Settings page, scroll down until you find the Manage Subscription section

    • Click the Cancel Subscription button

  3. Confirm Your Intention (For Business Tier and Above)

    • If you’re on a Business Tier or higher, Fireflies will offer you an option to downgrade to a lower paid plan as an alternative

    • To proceed with canceling your subscription entirely and moving to the Free tier, click the option that says I want to cancel subscription (Pro plan users may see a more direct cancellation path)

  4. Share Your Valuable Feedback (optional but appreciated)

    • A window will appear asking for your reason for canceling; we genuinely value your feedback as it helps us understand how we can make Fireflies better for everyone

    • Please take a moment to share your thoughts, then click Continue

  5. Final Confirmation

  • To finalize the cancellation, you’ll see one last confirmation prompt

  • Click Cancel subscription to confirm

What to expect after cancellation

Once you’ve completed the steps:

  • Active Until Cycle End: Your current paid subscription benefits will remain active until the end of your current billing period; you won’t be charged again

  • Automatic Switch to Free: After your current billing cycle ends, your account will automatically transition to the Fireflies Free tier

  • Welcome Back Anytime: Should your needs change in the future, you can easily resubscribe to any of our paid plans directly from your account settings

Making sense of it all

  • Your subscription will downgrade automatically to the Free tier after your current billing cycle ends

  • You’ll retain all data during this transition, but the features of the Free plan will apply after your billing cycle ends

  • If you change your mind, you can easily resubscribe to a paid plan later
