AI Skills in Fireflies help you turn your meetings into automated workflows. Instead of replaying long calls or manually writing summaries, insights, or reports, AI Skills do the work for you — exactly the way you want.
This guide walks you through what AI Skills are, how they work, and how to start using them to make your meeting workflows easier.

What are AI Skills?
AI Skills are smart automations inside Fireflies that analyze your meeting recordings and instantly turn them into clear, structured insights — without any manual work.
They help you pull out the exact information you need and organize it in a consistent, repeatable way.
What AI Skills can do
Generate a customized output specific to your meeting.
Extract key details like action items, decisions, objections, and next steps
Generate structured reports (BANT, MEDDIC, Hiring Scorecards, Competitor Mentions)
Identify trends and patterns across multiple meetings
Create automated workflows that run after each meeting or on a schedule

Use cases for AI Skills
AI Skills can support almost every workflow in your organization. Here are some common ways teams use them:
Sales — Generate BANT/MEDDIC reports, extract objections, highlight next steps, and track competitor mentions.
Hiring — Produce structured candidate scorecards, culture-fit insights, and automatic interview summaries.
Customer Success — Identify churn risks, track sentiment, summarize QBRs, and flag product feedback.
Product & Research — Pull feature requests, analyze user pain points, and cluster feedback across multiple calls.
Leadership & Ops — Create weekly or monthly reports using multi-meeting skills to spot patterns and trends across the team.

Create an AI Skill
You can build AI Skills in two ways — by creating one from scratch or by customizing a pre-built template. Here’s a quick overview of both methods so you can pick what works best for your workflow.
1. Create a skill From Scratch
If you want full control over what the skill extracts or analyzes, you can build your own skill with custom instructions.
Click the Create button in the AI Skills tab to start building your skill from scratch.

2. Use a Pre-Built Template
Fireflies offers 200+ ready-made templates (BANT, Competitor Mentions, Candidate Scorecards, Weekly Reports, and more). You can open any template under the Discover tab and customize it to match your needs.

Types of AI Skills you can create
Fireflies offers two ways to build automations, depending on how you want your insights to run across meetings:
1. Per-Meeting AI Skills
Per-Meeting AI Skills give you a customized output from every meeting—whether it’s a summary, action items, sales framework, or interview analysis.
These skills run automatically after each meeting that matches the skill’s rules.
How to Set It Up
To enable Per-Meeting execution, open your AI Skill, click Edit, then scroll to Schedule and select Per Meeting.
Save your changes, and the skill will automatically run after every meeting that matches its rules.

Examples:
A summary skill that runs at every meeting
BANT/MEDDIC/Daily Digest skill for each sales call
Candidate screening skill for every interview
Use this when you want outputs per meeting.

2. Scheduled (Multi-Meeting) AI Skills
These skills run daily, weekly, or monthly and analyze multiple meetings at once. Perfect for tracking trends or generating recurring reports.
How to Set It Up
To run your AI Skill on multiple meetings at once, open the AI Skill, click Edit, scroll to Schedule, and choose Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
Save your changes, and Fireflies will gather all meetings within that time window and generate one combined output.

Examples:
Weekly sales pipeline summary
Monthly customer sentiment trends or BANT
Daily support insights across all tickets/support calls
Use this when you want insights across many meetings instead of one.

View & Manage Your AI Skills
Once you’ve created your AI Skill, you can access and manage it anytime from your AI Skills Feed.
Go to AI Skills → My Skills to see all the skills you’ve created (e.g., Per Meeting or Multi-Meeting).

From here, you can edit, enable/disable, preview outputs, or delete your skills.
Use filters like Category, Created By, or Schedule to quickly find what you need.
Skills will also appear inside your meeting Notepad once they run on a meeting.
