How to Set Up Copper and Fireflies Integration

🔑 Prerequisites

Before connecting Copper with Fireflies, ensure you have the following:

  • Active Copper Account: You need a Copper account. If you don’t have one, you can sign up on their website.

  • Fireflies Account: Make sure you’re logged into your Fireflies account.

  • API Key from Copper: You’ll need to generate an API Key from Copper to connect it with Fireflies. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through the process!

Once you’ve completed these steps, you’re ready to connect Fireflies with Copper!

🔐 Get the Copper API Key

Before Fireflies can send transcripts to Copper, it needs permission to connect securely. This is done using a Copper API Key — think of it as a secure pass that lets Fireflies talk to your Copper account.

Don’t worry — generating it is quick and simple. Here’s how:

Generate Your Copper API Key

Step 1: Log in to your Copper account, click your profile in the top-left, then go to Integrations → API Keys. This is where you’ll generate the key to securely connect Copper with Fireflies.

Step 2: Click Generate API Key, give it a label (e.g., Fireflies Demo), and copy the key that appears.

For security reasons, the Copper API key won’t be shown again. Be sure to store it securely!

🔗 Connect Copper to Fireflies

Step 1: Log in to your Fireflies account, go to the Integrations page, and search for Copper. Click on it to get started.

Step 2: Click Connect. A modal will open asking you to enter your Copper API Key and the linked email address. Once you’ve entered them, click Authorize to finish the connection.

Step 3: Once authorized, you’ll be redirected back to Fireflies to configure your integration setup.

Setting Up Your Configuration

Step 1: Enter Your Copper API Key and Email

We’ve already pulled in your Copper API key and email from the earlier steps, so no need to type them again. Just take a quick look — if anything seems off (like the wrong key or email), you can easily fix it here before moving ahead.

Step 2: Choose How Notes Are Logged

Choose how you want Fireflies notes to appear in Copper. By default, they’ll show up as a Note, but you can switch them to a Meeting, Phone Call, To-Do, or SMS — whatever makes the most sense for your team’s workflow.

Step 3: Save Your Settings

Click Save to activate the integration — a flash message will confirm that your “Settings saved successfully”.

Test Integration with Copper

Before sending real meeting notes, you can quickly test the integration to make sure everything is set up correctly.

Insert Sample Data → See how a meeting note will show up in Copper without affecting your real CRM data.

  1. Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) next to your Copper configuration and select Insert Sample Data.

  2. A flash message will confirm — Sample data pushed successfully”.

Resync Past Meetings → Want older meeting notes in Copper too? You can pull those in anytime.

  1. Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) next to your Copper configuration and select Resync Past Meetings.

  2. A flash message will confirm — Past meetings sync successfully”.

These tests won’t affect your real CRM records — they’re just to help you confirm everything’s connected properly.

Edit Settings

Need to update your connection or change how notes are logged? Click Edit in the top-right of your Copper integration, update your API key/email if needed, pick the activity type (Note, Meeting, Call, To Do, SMS), and hit Save to apply.

📤 How Meeting Data Appears in Copper

Once connected, Fireflies automatically sends your meeting transcripts, summaries, and notes straight into Copper. They’ll appear under the activity type you selected during setup (for example, Note or Meeting).

The sample meeting data appears as fred@fireflies.ai in Copper.

Disconnect Integration

If you no longer need Fireflies connected to Copper — for example, if your team switches CRMs or you just want to pause the connection — you can disconnect it with a single click.

Click the Disconnect button to remove the Copper integration. This will immediately stop Fireflies from sending meeting notes and summaries to Copper.

Once disconnected, Fireflies will stop sending meeting data to Copper. You can always reconnect later if needed.

• Make sure the Copper integration is connected and active.

New contacts not created

• Fireflies automatically creates new contacts in Copper if they don’t already exist. If contacts still aren’t showing,

• Confirm your Copper API key and email are correct.

• If needed, generate a fresh key in Copper and update it in Fireflies.

Duplicate or missing notes

• Use Resync Past Meetings from the integration menu.

• This will re-push past meeting notes into Copper.
