How to Integrate Google Docs with Fireflies
Last updated: April 16, 2026
Ever wished your meeting summaries just appeared as Google Docs without any extra effort? With the Google Docs + Fireflies integration, they do! Meeting transcripts and summaries are automatically saved as Google Docs, right where your team already works.
Let's get started ๐
๐ What does this integration do?
Once connected, Fireflies automatically sends your meeting notes and summaries directly to Google Docs, stored in your Google Drive.
Save meeting summaries as Google Docs โ Automatically store summaries in a dedicated folder
Save full meeting transcripts โ Send complete transcripts as Google Docs for easy reading and sharing
Organize files automatically โ Files are saved in Fireflies Meetings > Summaries and Fireflies Meetings > Transcripts
Keep everything in one place โ Access all meeting notes directly from Google Drive

๐ Prerequisites
Before connecting Google Docs with Fireflies, make sure you have:
An active Fireflies account.
A Google account with access to Google Drive
Admin access in Fireflies (required for team-wide integrations).
Once these are ready, you can connect Google Docs to Fireflies and start saving meeting notes automatically.
๐ Connect Google Docs to Fireflies
Step 1: Log in to your Fireflies account, Navigate to the Integrations page, and search for Google Docs. Click on it to get started.

Step 2: Click Connect and you'll be redirected to the Google sign-in page. Authenticate with the Google account linked to your Google Drive.

Step 3: Click Continue to grant Fireflies permission to create and manage Google Docs in your Google Drive.

Step 4: Once approved, youโll be redirected back to Fireflies to configure your integration setup.

โ Setting Up Your Configuration
Step 1: Meeting Output Preferences
Choose what you want Fireflies to save as Google Docs.
Save Meeting Summary (Enabled by default) โ When enabled, Fireflies will automatically save meeting summaries as Google Docs in the Fireflies Meetings > Summaries folder
Save Meeting Transcript โ When enabled, Fireflies will also save the full meeting transcript as a Google Doc in the Fireflies Meetings > Transcripts folder
Click Continue to proceed.

Step 2: Create a Sample Note
Before you go live, make sure everything is working correctly.
Click Create a sample summary. Fireflies will generate a sample meeting summary and save it as a Google Doc in the Fireflies Meetings โ Summaries folder in your Drive.
Open the document to confirm the sample note appears correctly.
Once verified, click Continue to finish the setup.

This test wonโt affect your real meetings โ it just confirms that Fireflies can successfully send notes/summary to your Google Docs.
๐งฉ Additional Options โ Integration Rules
By default, Fireflies sends meeting notes to your Google Docs for every meeting. While this keeps everything updated, you may not always want every meeting included.
Integration Rules let you control which meetings are saved as Google doc, so only relevant meetings are added.
Integration Rules are available on Business or higher plans.

๐ All Meetings
Automatically send notes from every meeting to your Google docs with no filters applied.
๐ Meeting Title
Send meeting notes to Google docs only when the meeting title matches the rules you set (Contains, Starts with, Equals, Doesnโt Contain).
Example: Save meetings titled Client Review or Interview.
Add multiple keywords separated by commas (e.g., Interview, Client Review, Demo).
๐ค Meeting Host
Control which meetings are included based on who hosted the meeting.
Equals โ Include only meetings hosted by john@example.com
Not Equal โ Include all meetings except those hosted by john@example.com
๐ฅ Meeting Participants
Filter meetings based on who attended.
Contains โ Include meetings where sara@example.com attended
Doesnโt Contain โ Exclude meetings that included alex@example.com
๐ฆ Meeting Type
Filter meetings by type.
Example: Equals โ External โ Only external meetings are saved as Google docs.
๐ Apply Multiple Filters
Combine multiple filters for more precise control.
Example
Meeting title contains Interview AND host is john@example.com.
Rules can use AND (all conditions must match) or OR (any condition matches).

You can view all the filters applied to your configuration. In this example, meeting notes are saved as Google Docs only when all the selected conditions are met.
โ Example applied: Title contains "Interview", host = "John", participant = "Mary", type = "External".

๐พ Save Your Configuration
Click Save to activate the integration โ a flash message will confirm that your configuration has been successfully added.

You can set up multiple configurations โ for example, one for internal meetings and another for client calls.
๐ฅ Team Options
Sometimes, you may not want every teammate creating their own Google Docs configurations โ especially if your team wants meeting notes saved in a consistent way. Team Options allow workspace admins to control how the integration is used across the team.
1. Click the vertical ellipsis (โฎ) next to your Google Docs integration and select Team Options.
2. A modal window will appear with these options:
Apply to entire workspace โ Toggle this ON to apply the integration across your Fireflies workspace. All team meetings accessible by the team admin will have notes saved as Google Docs, keeping everything centralized.
๐ Meetings set to private in a teammateโs Privacy Settings wonโt be added unless youโre a Super Admin who can access meetings regardless of team privacy settings.
Restrict non-admin usage โ Toggle this ON to prevent non-admin members from creating their own Google Docs configurations. This helps maintain consistent organization.
3. After adjusting the toggles to fit your teamโs workflow, click Save to apply the changes.

Use workspace-level settings for shared or company-wide meeting logs, and personal configurations when individuals prefer to manage their own Google Doc configurations.
๐ Manage Configuration
Over time, you may need to update your Google Docs integration โ for example, to rename a configuration, update rules, or remove configurations you no longer use. Fireflies provides a few simple options to manage this.
โ Edit Configuration Name โ Give each Google Docs configuration a clear, descriptive name so itโs easy to recognize. Click the configuration name (for example, Default Configuration), type a new name (such as Meeting Notes Docs), and click outside the field to save.

โ Edit Configuration Settings โ Need to update your output preferences or integration rules? Click the vertical ellipsis (โฎ) next to a configuration, select Edit, update the settings, and click Update to save your changes.

๐ Enable or Disable a Configuration โ Use the toggle next to a configuration to control it quickly. Toggle ON to allow Fireflies to save meeting notes as Google Docs; toggle OFF to pause the integration without deleting it.

This is helpful if you have multiple configurations and only want one active at a time.
๐ Delete Configuration โ If a configuration is no longer needed (for example, you no longer want meeting notes saved to Google Docs), you can delete it. Click the vertical ellipsis (โฎ) next to the configuration, select Delete, and confirm.

Deleting a configuration stops Fireflies from saving meeting notes to Google Docs, so make sure itโs no longer needed before removing it.
๐ค How Notes Appear in Google Docs
Once the integration is set up, Fireflies saves meeting notes as Google Docs in your Google Drive.
Summaries are saved as Google Docs in the Fireflies Meetings > Summaries folder
Transcripts (if enabled) are saved as Google Docs in the Fireflies Meetings > Transcripts folder
Each document includes the meeting title, summary, and detailed notes or full transcript
Files are organized automatically for easy access and sharing
This helps teams store and review meeting notes directly from Google Drive.

โ Disconnect Integration
If you no longer need Fireflies connected to Google Docs, you can disconnect the integration at any time.
Click Disconnect to remove the Google Docs integration. This will immediately end the connection, and Fireflies will stop sending meeting notes as Google Docs to your Drive.

Once disconnected, Fireflies will no longer send meeting notes as Google Docs to your Drive. You can reconnect the integration anytime if needed.
