Fireflies Notebook overview
1. How to access
- Log in to Fireflies and select Meetings from the dashboard.
2. Channels
Your Fireflies Notebook is organized into three default Channels.
- #My Meetings: Shows only the meetings that you’ve hosted.
- #All meetings: Shows meetings hosted by you or your entire team.
- #Shared with me: Shows meetings that others have shared with you.
- To organize your meetings, you can create unlimited public and private channels based on your Fireflies subscription.

3. Global Search
At the top of the dashboard is a search bar that can be used to search your past meetings.
1. Search by transcript
- Click on the search bar at the top.
- Enter any keyword or phrases you remember from the meeting, and click enter.
2. Search by meeting title
- Find all meetings matching your exact meeting title. Type your query in the search and click Title Only.
3. Search by host name
- Click Host to filter meetings using the meeting organizer’s name.
- Enter the name of the host, select it, and click enter.
4. Search by participants
- Click Participant to filter meetings using the participants of the meeting.
- Enter the name of the participant, select it, and click enter.
Tip: You can narrow down the search by selecting multiple participants at once.
5. Search by Channel
- Click Channel and enter the name of the desired channel.
- You choose any private or public channel that is visible to you including the default #All Meetings, #My Meetings, and #Share With Me channels.
6. Search by date
Filtering by date is a great way to narrow down your search results and quickly find the meeting you are looking for.
Once you make a search using the above mentioned methods, a new pop-up window will open with meeting results. It will look like this:
- Filter meetings further using the Date filter. You can filter meetings of the last 3, 7, or 30 days.
- If you are looking for a meeting that happened on an exact date, click Select date, use the calendar to choose the desired date, and click Apply.
7. Search using AskFred
If you are on a paid Fireflies plan, you have access to AskFred search. It is an AI-enabled search feature that answers your meeting related questions based on the meetings stored in your workspace.
- To search using AskFred, click on the AskFred icon next to the search bar.
- Type your query in the text box and click enter.
Fred will answer your questions in a conversational manner, just like ChatGPT.
You can continue the conversation and ask more follow-up questions.

4. Move or delete meetings
- Hover over the desired meeting and click on the checkbox. You can choose one or multiple meetings at once.
- Click Move to move the meetings to a desired Private or Public channel.
- Private channels have a lock icon, while public channels have a # icon.
- Select a channel and click Move.
- You can also delete meetings from Notebook. Selecting one or multiple meetings and click Delete.
- Click Delete meetings to confirm.

5. Meeting-related activities
- From Notebook, you can also add Fireflies to live meetings, schedule a new one, or upload audio or video files for transcription.
