You can use the Fireflies + Zapier integration to automatically transcribe new meeting recordings as soon as they're added to your Google Drive cloud storage.
In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to set up the Fireflies + Zapier integration and use it to transcribe meeting recordings stored in Google Drive.
What you’ll need:
- A paid Fireflies.ai account
- A Google Drive account
- A Zapier account
Now, we’ll tell you how to create a new integration on Zapier.
Step 1: Setup your Trigger
- Go to Zapier and log in to your account.
- Go to Zaps and click Create.
- Click New Zap.
- Click Trigger.
- Choose Google Drive as your Trigger.
- Select New File in Folder as your trigger event.
This means that every time you upload a new file to a specific Google Drive folder, it will trigger this workflow.
- Connect Google Drive: Sign in to your Google account and authenticate Zapier.
- Select My Google Drive for Drive, then select the folder in Google Drive where you will upload the audio/video files that you want to transcribe.
Step 2: Setup your Action
- Click Action.
- Search for Fireflies.ai and select it.
- Click Event and choose Upload Audio.
- Log in to your Fireflies account to connect it with Zapier.
- Under the Action tab, select File: Exists but not shown for mandatory fields Audio URL Link and Title.
Step 3: Test your Zap
Before turning on your Zap, test it to ensure everything is working correctly. Upload a test file to your Google Drive folder and see if Fireflies.ai starts the transcription process.
Step 4: Publish your Zap
Once the test is successful, publish your Zap.
Now, every time you upload a new audio or video file to the specified Google Drive folder, Fireflies.ai will automatically transcribe it for you.
You can find the file transcripts under the My Meetings channel on the Fireflies web app.
Fireflies will also notify you via email as soon as it transcribes a file uploaded to the selected Google Drive video.
Common troubleshooting
- File formats: Ensure your audio/video files are in supported formats. Fireflies supports MP3, MP4, WAV, and M4A files.
- Zapier limits: If you’re on a free Zapier plan, your integrations might get limited functionality. Check Zapier’s pricing plans to see which one fits your needs.
And that’s how you transcribe audio and video files using Fireflies + Zapier.
