Billing and additional charges
1. Why am I billed after the trial?
If you don’t cancel your subscription before the trial period ends, you’ll automatically be billed for the paid plan.
To avoid unexpected charges:
- Cancel your trial subscription before it ends.
If you were charged after your trial ended:
- Contact our support team for a refund. Refunds may be full or prorated based on our refund policy.

2. Why am I billed for inviting teammates?
When you invite teammates to your workspace, they are added as additional seats, which are billable. This is also mentioned as a note in the Invite Teammates pop-up.
If you’ve been billed for adding teammates, here’s what to do:
- Remove the teammates from your workspace. Refer to the guide on how to deacctivate teammates.
- Contact our support team to initiate a full or prorated refund.
3. What does a seat mean?
A seat refers to a user. Each team member added to your workspace is considered a seat, and you will be billed for every user.

4. Why do I get an additional charge of $5 on top of my Fireflies subscription?
You may see an additional charge on top of your Fireflies subscription if you’ve subscribed to the AI Credits add-on.
This add-on lets you use the AI capabilities of Fireflies like AskFred, Magic Soundbites, AI Apps, and Custom summaries.
For paid-tier users, AI Credits come with a free trial. If you do not cancel the subscription after the trial, you will be charged an additional fee starting at $5/month per user.
To confirm if your AI Credits subscription is active:
Go to the Settings > Account Settings. You should see the AskFred & AI Credits subscription as active.
Alternatively, you can go to the billing section and see if the AI Credits subscription is active.
If you wish to cancel the subscription, go to Settings and click Cancel. Once canceled, you can continue to use AI Credits until the end of your billing cycle.
Note: AI Credits are non-refundable.

Invoice and billing
1. Where can I find the invoice?
You can find your invoices in the Billing History section. Simply select the billing record and click the Download Invoice button.

2. Can I edit my billing details?
Yes, you can. Go to Billing and click Edit Details to update your billing address, name, and other details.

3. Why can’t I access my billing page?
Only admins can access the billing page. If you are not an admin, you will not have access.
4. Can I send billing invoices to another email address?
Yes. From Billing, scroll down to Billing history. Then, enable the send Billing receipts toggle and click Update to add the new email address.

Plan changes and payments
1. Can I downgrade my Fireflies subscription plan after making a purchase?
Yes, it’s possible. Go to Billing, click Edit, and select the plan you want to downgrade to.
The system will convert the difference amount into credits, which can be used in your next billing cycle.
Alternatively, you can request a refund, and the difference will be credited to you according to our refund policy.

2. What payment options are supported?
We support Stripe, allowing you to pay with a credit or debit card. Add your card, and Fireflies will automatically charge it based on your invoice details.
