Fireflies allows you to create custom meeting notes to your preference using AI Apps.
While customizing AI Apps, you have the option to change the language model and generate better outputs
This article covers what these language models are and how to select one when customizing notes and summaries.
Types of AI Models
There are three AI Models:
- GPT: Basic
- GPT: Advanced
- GPT: Advanced Large
Choosing an advanced AI Model will help you generate better output for your notes and meeting summaries.

Note: Users cannot use their own models or API keys. Fireflies uses GPT-4o exclusively to ensure consistent and high-quality summaries, action items, and notes.

How to switch AI models inside meeting notes
- Open your desired meeting on Fireflies.
- Under the Notes tab, scroll down from the meeting summary to find the custom app response.
This section will display the name of the AI App being used. For instance, we are using a custom Sales Call app.
- Hover over the custom app for which you want to switch the AI model. Additional buttons will appear.
- Click the three-dot menu.
- Click Customize.
- A pop-up window will appear. Click on the AI Model drop-down.
- Choose your new AI model.
- Click Save & Run.
- Give Fireflies some time to regenerate the response.
That’s it. You will see the regenerated response using the changed AI model shortly.
Note: Repeat this process for every custom AI App you have created.
Note: For every AI app you create, you can choose different AI models. For example, you can set Sales App to GPT: Advanced Large and Competitor Mention Analyzer to GPT: Basic language model.
How to switch AI Models from the Apps page
- Go to Fireflies web app and click Apps.
- Click on the AI App you want to customize.
- A pop-up window will appear. Click on the AI Model drop-down.
- Choose your new AI model.
- Click Save changes.
Repeat this process for every AI App you want to customize.
