How to automate AskFred Apps – Fireflies.ai

This guide explains how to automate AskFred Apps.

What are AskFred Apps?

AskFred Apps is a type of Fireflies AI App that you can use within AskFred, our AI Assistant, to automatically handle tasks like drafting follow-up emails, answering questions, or retrieving frequently requested information.
When you automate AskFred apps, it allows you to automate frequently used questions and prompts.
This means that every time after your meeting concludes, Fred will automatically run the prompt and provide the answer as soon as you open the meeting transcript.

To create AskFred apps, you need AI Credits, which are available as add-ons to our paid Fireflies plans.

To automate prompts for AskFred, you must enable the Ask Fred app in AI Apps.
To do this, navigate to AI Apps > My Apps and turn on the toggle against Ask Fred.

Open the AskFred chat window in your meeting. Click on the Automate button below the prompt.

Rename the app and edit the prompt according to your preference. Click Save.

That’s it. The next time you record a meeting or upload a file, AskFred automatically runs this prompt and shares answers in the AskFred chat window.
You’ll find your new automated AskFred apps under AI Apps in the Apps section.

Note: Each time an AskFred app runs, it consumes 1 AI credit.

If you are a team admin, you can delete AskFred Apps. To delete an app, click the Kebab menu icon, select Delete, and confirm again by clicking Delete.
