This guide covers steps to use Fireflies during a meeting.
Capture meeting videos
- Share your screen or presentations during your call. Fireflies will capture the meeting videos and the summaries after processing your meetings.
Note:
- Video recording is available to Fireflies Business and Enterprise plans users.
- Video recording feature is not available with the Fireflies Chrome extension.

Create Bookmarks, Comments, Soundbites
- Fireflies bot sends you a link that lets you leave comments and create bookmarks and Soundbites while you are in the meeting. You can find this message in the chatbox of your video conferencing platform.
- Click on the link, and this leads you to the live transcript page where you can create Bookmarks Soundbites, and leave comments.

Use Voice Commands
- Use voice commands like “remind me” or “note that” to create tasks in the Project Management apps you have integrated with Fireflies.

Key points
1. Remove and re-invite Fireflies
- Just like any other participant, you can remove Fireflies from the meeting.
- You can also use the add to live meeting feature to invite Fireflies back to the meeting.
2. Waiting time
- The Fireflies Notetaker bot will only join the meeting upon approval from the meeting host.

If the host delays entry or if the meeting room is enabled, Fireflies will wait.
- For Google Meet, it waits for 10 minutes from the scheduled start time.
- For other platforms (e.g : Microsoft Teams and Zoom), it waits for 15 minutes from the scheduled start time.
- So, in total, the bot waits for about 10-15 mins from the scheduled start time.
3. Call duration
- To process your meeting transcripts, Fireflies needs to be in the meeting for at least 3 minutes.
- Fireflies can stay until the end of your meeting or for up to120 minutes.
